"22. GHORMLEY, James, the son of Joseph Ghormley and his wife, Sarah _______, was born on July 17, 1797."
It is believed Joseph [father of James] lived in Alabama for twenty years and during this time his family had grown and his wife died. Some of his children continued to live in Alabama but his oldest son James moved to Indiana in 1827, where he administered the estate of a member of the "Cronk" family relatives of his wife."
